Even as the season changes and the weather turns cooler, the mission of Saving Susan Ministry is still moving forward, and there is so much to celebrate and look forward to before the year comes to a close. God continues to use Saving Susan and each of you, our champions, to bring hope, healing, and lasting change to vulnerable children around the world.
It has been an incredible and full summer, filled with opportunities to serve, connect, grow, and make an impact. Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished together, and the exciting opportunities still ahead as we finish the year strong.
Why Go on a Trip?
Traveling to Guatemala and Cambodia are part of Saving Susan’s mission to build relationships with the children and in country staff we serve. We take a few teams a year to come see the work we do in person, get to know the children and house parents better, and grow deeper with God. Each trip is rewarding and unique, giving trip members a chance to experience how we’re impacting the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children.
““This has been a great experience. One thing that truly has blessed my heart is the moment I realized I was communicating with the children without using words! The universal language is Jesus, love, compassion, patience, and care!””

Summer Trips
July and August we sent two teams out to Guatemala and Cambodia. In Guatemala, our team spent time at Casa Bernabé serving the kids at the children’s home and their caregivers. The team that went to Cambodia got to attend graduations at Bileg, visit a new children’s home, and spend time with our Next Steps Students. You can read more about our summer trips on our blog.
Rally for Susan Recap
Our 8th annual Rally for Susan tennis and pickleball fundraiser was in August, and it was an amazing and impactful time! We raised $55,000 for our programs, had the most people we've ever had attend, and had more auction items than ever before (70+ items). It was such a fun time to play, shop, and serve with ladies in our community.
Champions Night at the Ballpark
Our gala is just around the corner, and it’s not too late to grab your tickets! The event will be at the Hank Aaron Terrace at Truist Park on November 12th. This will be a truly unique night to dine, have fun, and support the work we do for our kids in Cambodia and Guatemala.
