Our Programs

We are called by God to serve the orphaned and vulnerable. Our programs elevate care of these children through loving relationships, one step at a time.

+ Parent Partner Program

A Parent Partner is a Christian who commits long-term to walk alongside an orphaned or vulnerable child as family. Through prayer, video calls, and consistent encouragement, you become a steady, Christ-like presence in their life.

The Four Step Commitment:

Covenant Commitment – Partner with your child through high school and beyond.

Relational Commitment – Connect 1–2 times a month through video calls, with optional opportunities to visit in person on our Team Trips.

Financial Commitment – Invest $100/month, directly enhancing your child’s care, education, and opportunities.

Equipped Commitment – Receive updates, training, and ministry support as you grow in this relationship together.

As a Parent Partner, you give a child more than provision—you give them hope, belonging, and the love of Christ.

+ Team Trips

Team Trips offer life-changing opportunities to experience the heart of Saving Susan Ministry firsthand. Participants build meaningful relationships with the children, staff, and mission partners we serve, while living out their faith through service and ministry.

What to Expect on a Team Trip:

Build Relationships – Spend time connecting with the children, staff, and local partners through shared experiences and intentional engagement.

Fun and Impactful Activities – Participate in games, lessons, mentorship, and creative projects designed to bring joy and encouragement to the children.

Serve Our Mission Partners – Support the work of children’s homes and church partners through practical acts of service, showing Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Team Trips create unforgettable experiences, foster deep connections, and allow participants to make a real difference while discovering the joy of serving God alongside the children and communities we love. Many of our current Parent Partners made their commitment after going on a team trip and meeting the child that God had meant for them.

+ Education Program

The Education Program equips the children we serve with the knowledge, skills, and mentorship they need to thrive and fulfill their God-given potential. Students grow both academically and spiritually, preparing for a future of independence, leadership, and service.

The Two Pillars of the Education Program:

English Learning – Each child is enrolled in classes focused on conversational English, strengthening communication with Parent Partners and opening doors to broader educational and employment opportunities.

Next Steps (Baskin-Bowler Program) – Named after visionary forerunners Dr. Jack Baskin and Dr. Craig Bowler, this program ensures that students have the opportunity to pursue higher education or vocational training after high school. Through mentorship, discipleship, and scholarships, students are guided toward a vocation that aligns with their passion and calling, helping them break cycles of poverty and thrive as leaders in their communities.

Through the Education Program, children gain not only knowledge and skills, but also the confidence, guidance, and spiritual grounding to step boldly into their future.

+ Emotional Care Program

The Emotional Care Program nurtures the hearts and minds of the children we serve, helping them grow in confidence, resilience, and spiritual health. Through music, art, and counseling, children are guided to process their past experiences, discover their gifts, and develop a strong sense of identity in Christ.

The Three Pillars of the Emotional Care Program:

Music Academy – We establish a Music Academy in each children’s home, donating instruments and funding teachers to instruct the children. Music provides joy, emotional expression, and a powerful way to praise God: “Make a joyful noise to the Lord.” (Psalm 98:4)

Art Therapy – Guided by experts in trauma-informed art therapy and orphan abandonment, children engage in gospel-centered art projects that help them process hurts, express emotions, and experience hope through creativity.

Counseling & Mentorship – Children receive counseling through mentors and resources who guide them through past trauma, helping them navigate the challenges of growing up and stepping into independence.

Through the Emotional Care Program, children gain more than support—they discover healing, hope, and the assurance that they are deeply loved and valued by God.
