KENNESAW, GA - July 28, 2021 - Saving Susan Ministry, Inc. (SSM), a 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit organization based in Kennesaw, GA, announces a partnership with Manos de Compasión, a Christian children’s home located in Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala.

Saving Susan Ministry was founded in 2015 by local business owners Jay and Tracy Arntzen with the mission of elevating orphan care in developing countries through local Christian partnerships. SSM supports Christian orphan communities in countries where borders are closed to adoption by partnering “Parent Partners” with each orphan through regular video calls, field trip visits, and financial support. They support partners in raising children to overcome their past, grow in their walk with Christ, and, ultimately, become disciples and leaders in their communities. SSM has supporting programs, including music academies, English learning, and university and trade school funding that enrich the education of its partnered orphans and provide them with the opportunity to pursue their vocational callings.

Located in the Bay of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, Manos de Compasión was established in 1999, and is a childrens' home serving the Lord in the care of the orphan and preaching the gospel to the lost. Dave and Deborah Reichard are second-generation missionary directors of the home. Their number one goal is to raise up abandoned, abused, and forgotten children to be men and women of Christ. The ministry has five main buildings, including four ministry houses and a school. Each of the ministry houses have "house parents" that look after the children in those specific houses. Currently there are over fifty children under the care of the ministry.

Dave Reichard is looking forward to seeing the fruit of this partnership: “We are super excited to partner with Saving Susan. We have had a big need for years regarding help in the mentorship of young adults after they leave the home. We are confident our partnership will help our young adults become better disciples of Jesus!”
